IEEE802.11 Atlanta interim meeting had been adjourned by the closing plenary in this morning. TGai had really good progress more than my expectation. In this result, the P802.11ai D7.0 will be balloted by sponsors soon.
I left the venue after having the lunch at WAGAYA restaurant with Japanese partners, Unfortunately, many airports in the east side were closed due to the winter storm today. And also many flight schedules were cancelled or delayed. Fortunately, my flight to LAX had not been any changes, then I checked in the nearby by LAX on time.
This hotel was remodeled last year and the new sushi bar had opened. Sushi bar is operated by a couple of Japanese staffs and they served me a fine enough sushi. The sushi chef told me that " We have largest Japanese visitors today all over year due to the EIKEN examination"
EIKEN is a certification program of English skill produced by the Japanese government. EIKEn was the only one certification that can demonstrate the performance of English skill when I was young.
However, I have been understanding that TOFL and TOEIC are more popular and valuable today before I heard this topic, "EIKEN is already too old and not valuable for young peoples " was my wrong understanding.
For the people who are living abroad and having plan to go back to Japan in the future, EIKEN seems the only required certification that demonstrate their English performance. Therefore, many Japanese come here the long way to this hotel.
I hope all of them shall be certified tomorrow.
